Manchester City are ready to test Barcelona's resolve with a bid for Gerard Pique. Pique is now inside the final two years of his current deal and yet to hear from Barca about new contract talks.
RMC says City, where former Barca chiefs Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano control transfer policy, are keen to bring Pique back to Manchester. The Spain international left Manchester United in 2008.
City's interest has kicked Barca into action with a new contract offer now being hastily drawn up for Pique to consider.
