Barcelona are reportedly chasing Chelsea's fullback Marcus Alonso.

The Catalans see him as an ideal replacement for defender Gerard Pique.

Goal.com believes that Alonso is the man Barcelona see as fitting next to Samuel Umtiti at centre-back.

While Alonso has not played that position at Chelsea, he has played as a central defender earlier in his career.

The 27-year-old is a key player for Chelsea and it is unclear whether the London club would even consider his sale as a possibility. But a return to his homeland could appeal to Alonso.
