Barcelona are convinced Gareth Bale is ready to leave Tottenham this summer. Sport says Barca are prepared to compete with Manchester City for the Welsh ace and believe they can undercut the mega spending Premier League giants.

Spurs want €50 million for Bale and Barca chiefs know another €10 million will be needed for agents to broker the deal - which is well outside their summer budget.

City can certainly afford such an outlay, which will see Barca employ the same tactics that landed Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez from Udinese for lower than expected fees.

Barca will seek talks with Bale's representatives to learn how serious he is about moving to Nou Camp ahead of chasing the big money at City.

Should they receive encouragement, Barca will start to work on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy about lowering the price and doing right by Bale over his choice of destination.
