Everton face competition from Barcelona for Ajax defender Davinson Sánchez.

Sport says the 20 year-old Colombian has come to the attention of Barcelona and talks between all three parties have already commenced.

Sanchez joined Ajax last summer from Atletico Nacional for €5 million.

Veteran Ajax coach Tonny Bruins Slot revealed earlier this month: "Barca are lucky because otherwise Davinson Sanchez would already be playing at Everton under the orders of Ronald Koeman, who is enthusiastic about the boy.

"He has personally confirmed this to me on several occasions.

"The Colombian, who is regular in the national team, has not yet managed to have enough time to meet the requirements for a work permit for a Premier League club."
