Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has denied reports that Barcelona are yearning to sign Philippe Coutinho.
Multiple reports in recent months have indicated that the Catalan giants are eager to lure the Brazilian playmaker from Liverpool to the Nou Camp.
But Balague responded to a question from a fan on Twitter, via Sky Sports, that Barça have no intention of signing an attacking player in the mould of Coutinho.
“Philippe Coutinho is of course a very good player but Barcelona do not want to sign him," said Balague.
“Barça are after a midfielder and Coutinho is more of a forward. Marco Verratti is the one they want but he may be too expensive for them."
