Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen is being linked to a return to Belgium.

Vermaelen spent last season on-loan with Roma and Sport says Anderlecht have approached Barca about a deal.

The former Arsenal captain has been linked with a return to England at West Brom and Crystal Palace.

However, after an impressive preseason, there are also suggestions coach Ernesto Valverde could register Vermaelen for the new campaign.

Vermaelen's contract runs to 2019.
