Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu admits he can sense Lionel Messi struggling for form. Mathieu joined Barca in the summer from Valencia.
"I played against Messi for five years and always found it very difficult to stop him scoring," Mathieu told Le Sport 10. "But last season it was less. He was easier to mark, since he was less cool, less rapid.
"Usually, it is always difficult to steal the ball from him.
"He still has that little boost that makes the difference, and last year he had it also, though less..."
Mathieu, however, added: "This season, there is hunger for titles. These are players who do not surrender. Messi wants to regain the title and become again the best player in the world. It is revenge."
