Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu suffered an ankle injury in victory at Atletico Madrid.

Mathieu's afternoon ended prematurely when he was caught by Angel Correa.

“First team player Jeremy Mathieu suffered sprained ankle ligaments in the win against Atletico," Barça have since confirmed.

“His return will depend on how his injury heals."

Mathieu, who was removed in the 75th minute and replaced by Lucas Digne, is therefore set for a spell on the sidelines.
