Barcelona defender Eric Abidal wants to play on next season.

The Frenchman is off contract at the end of the season.

He told RAC1: "If my health permits I want to continue playing at the club but my contract ends in June.

"What if they do not call me?

"Someone told me something (about an ambassador's role) but not directly. I know that the president has plans for me.

"Anyway, only I can decide my future.

"Time and God will say if I can't go on and if then I have to be an ambassador, I would be happy.

"I would retire at the club but it depends on them, not me."
