Barcelona sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta admits they're in new contract talks with three of their senior players.

Zubi says they're close to settling terms with Javier Mascherano over an improved deal.

"The negotiations are now very advanced," he revealed.

On skipper Carles Puyol's new deal, he continued: "The situation, given his history and career, goes beyond the norm. When he returns from his well-deserved vacation we'll sit down and we'll talk about how he views his future."

Zubi also gave an update on Adriano's situation: "We've talked to his representative, but not about his current contract.

"We're very pleased with his performance, especially during the final stretch of the year. We'll deal with the situation in the future."
