Barcelona coach Valverde welcomes Mina; farewells Turan

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has welcomed new signing Yerry Mina.

Los Cules unveiled the former Palmeiras defender to the Camp Nou on Saturday morning and it's expected that he will be gradually eased into life in Catalonia.

"A little joy in football is never a bad thing," he explained in his pre-match press conference.

"What I like is for my players to score the goals, what happens after doesn't interest me.

"I like players who are confident, we hope he will fit into the group well, he must train with the team and learn our style."

Saturday morning also saw Arda Turan finally depart the club official, although not on a permanent basis with Istanbul Basaksehir agreeing to take the Turkish international on a two and a half year loan until the expiry of his contract with the Blaugrana.

"He's a very talented player and has shown it many times," he intimated.

"This year he hasn't had the opportunities to play that he'd have liked.

"I can only thank him for his behaviour whilst with us."
