Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde was delighted with victory over Girona on Saturday.
"The spirit in this team is excellent," he explained.
"We are trying to be together in both attack and defence.
"What I most like about this team is that they are programmed to work hard."
Girona's tactic of man-marking Lionel Messi was not surprising, yet it did limit the Argentine's effectiveness in front of goal, something that Valverde isn't concerned by.
"It was clear they were only watching the man," he said on that tactical point.
"Messi had to watch for this and get the most out of bleak situations.
"When he doesn't score then he is unhappy, yet I'm not worried about it, as he is very calm about this subject."
