Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has surprised several youngsters with his tour squad selection.

Sport says Valverde named his US tour squad on Monday, which included several surprise omissions.

Fullback Marc Cucurella has been left at home, along with Sergi Palencia and Vitinho. Indeed, of the Barca B players, only Marlon and Carles Aleñá have been included by Valverde.

New signing Nelson Semedo will be on the plane. But Gerard Deulofeu will be missing due to injury.

Deulofeu, meanwhile, will not be granted a signing ceremony by Barca as management believe his re-signing doesn't deserve a fresh introduction.
