Barcelona coach Valverde defends selection for Celta Vigo draw

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde was satisfied with their 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo.

Saturday's Copa del Rey final was clearly on the Blaugrana boss' mind as he brought the likes of Yerry Mina, Denis Suarez, Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer out from the cold.

"The other time we came here, in the Copa, we also made many changes," said the coach post-match.

"This time, considering where we came from and that we now have a final, I wanted to make changes."

While the point does push Barcelona closer to the title and an unbeaten league season, many questioned their performance in Vigo and Valverde highlighted Sergi Roberto's red card as the turning point against his side.

"We don't take it for granted because we always think about winning, but we have to settle for what we have," the Spaniard stated.

"I thought that we were the better side, then came the red card and we had to change things."
