Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Robinho and wants to bring the Manchester City star back to Spain next year.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barca tried until the final days of the summer market to bring the Brazilian to the Nou Camp, but couldn't find an agreement before the transfer deadline fell this week.

Twice, in Monte Carlo for the European Super Cup and during City's visit to the Nou Camp for the Joan Gamper trophy, negotiations were held over a deal for Robinho.

Guardiola would welcome the Brazilian with open arms and Barca insiders are convinced City will sell once they have a big-name replacement lined up next year.
