Barcelona coach Guardiola told to decide between Ribery and David Silva

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has been told to decide which wide player he wants signed in the summer.

Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery and Valencia midfielder David Silva are both available to Guardiola and El Mundo Deportivo says he must decide between them.

Ribery is regarded by Guardiola as the better of the two and the opportunity to deny Real Madrid the Frenchman is attractive.

However, Silva fits Barca's profile. There remains a push within the club to always buy Spanish first and his versatility also appeals to Guardiola.

For his part, outgoing Barca sports director Txiki Begiristain sees Silva as the better signing.

I'd prefer Silva. While you can argue Ribery may be slightly better currently, both are great quality and I think the younger Silva has more upside.

Silva would fit better with Barca's current system as a supporting wing/striker. Plus, he is accustomed to La Liga's technical style and would mesh well with his fellow Spanish teammates.

I respect Pep's decision, but please let it be Silva!
