Barcelona coach Guardiola plays down tactical influence on Real Madrid thrashing

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola played down his own role in last night's amazing 6-2 win at Real Madrid.

Guardiola had his attackers Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi all routinely switch flanks and avoid sitting centrally - which led to great confusion at the heart of Real's defence.

But the coach insisted afterwards: "We had talked about these small details, making the strikers Messi and Eto'o play on the flanks, but they are quality players who can unsettle any defence. These are the players that make everything work. With all these players it is easier.

"It's a wonderful night to win and so great for this wonderful club. I think that getting three points here is very good."

Eto'o chimed in: "Guardiola was tactically unsurpassed."
