Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola expects Lionel Messi to win this year's Ballon d'Or after last night's Champions League triumph. Messi embarrassed United's defence with a headed goal in the 2-0 win and Guardiola smiled: "I guess he will already be writing his name on the Ballon d'Or. But he doesn't need to win that to know he is the best.
"He never hides and is always available in the most difficult of situations."
On a five-star performance from Andres Iniesta, Guardiola joked about his pre-match injury doubts: "He was only playing on one leg! We told him not to use his right!
"Luckily we won, otherwise we would have been slaughtered for playing him!"
Guardiola also praised Sylvinho for his performance in defence: "I apologise to him for not playing him more this season. He is a great player to have in the dressing room."
He concluded: "There's nothing more to do. We have won three trophies and now can celebrate with all of Barcelona."
