Barcelona coach Guardiola keen to try again for Ribery

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has asked president Joan Laporta to make one last effort to prise Franck Ribery away from Bayern Munich.

Guardiola still has concerns over his wing options and with David Siva, the Valencia midfielder, close to joining Valencia, he is banking on reviving Barca's bid for Ribery this summer.

Catalan sources say Barca intermediaries, despite the official denials, are convinced Bayern will sell Ribery as the Frenchman's continues to baulk at extending his current deal, which has little over a year to run.

Barca have been told a bid of €50 million will be enough to land the France international.
