Former Manchester City keeper David James feels that Pep Guardiola's players will be feeling pressure ahead of their Champions League tie with Barcelona.
City are without a win in their last three games in all competitions, and James feels that the game against Guardiola's former club could prove to be make-or-break for some of his players.
“The Joe Hart decision, beyond Pep thinking this is what I want to do because that's how I feel about it, also sends a message out to the rest of the team that you're not too good to be out of my side," the former England international said in an interview with the Daily Express.
“If Pep wants to take Manchester City to the next level – and I'm talking about winning the Champions League here – then these are the games when he's going to be able to see what his players are actually about.
“And if the strike force or anyone, for any given reason, isn't up to scratch or falters under the Camp Nou lights then why wouldn't he go and replace them?
“So there's a bit of pressure in that sense."
