Barcelona chiefs have scheduled another meeting with Ajax officials this week about Frenkie de Jong.

Ajax chief Marc Overmars is well aware Barca want to sign the Dutch youngster this month and bring him to Spain.

Overmars is desperate to keep hold of De Jong, though Ajax's board will soften their stand if they fail to qualify the Champions League group phase. Their final playoff game will be held on August 28.

Sport says Barca are prepared to wait until then for Ajax to make a decision and are seeking talks this week for an update.
