Barcelona chiefs delighted as Sanchez refuses to meet with Man City reps

Barcelona remain upbeat over their pursuit of Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.

With Jeffren Suarez refusing to be part of any swap offer, talks between the two clubs broke down yesterday and allowed Manchester City to step in with a €40 million straight cash bid.

However, El Mundo Deportivo says Barca chiefs were delighted to learn of Sanchez insisting only a Nou Camp move would be good enough for him.

The Chilean was on the phone to his agent yesterday making it clear he "only wanted Barca - and Barca only".

City's €40 million offer - plus another €5 million in bonuses - is the one Udinese want to accept and they have urged Sanchez to listen to the Premier League club's proposal.

But both Sanchez and agent Fernando Felicevich are furious with Udinese's behaviour and are digging in their heels over moving to the European champs after the Copa America.
