Barcelona chief says pursuit of Arsenal ace Cesc now dead

Barcelona say their push for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is currently "dead". Barcelona director of football Raul Sanllehi says there's no plans to revive their bid for Cesc.

He said: "Cesc is a great Catalan player. He played for us as a kid and he will be welcome back at Barcelona for the Champions League match.

"Right now, everything is dead regarding a transfer."

Speaking about the European encounter, Sanllehi added: "Arsenal are one of the main challengers for the Champions League.

"We acknowledge how difficult it is going to be."
