Barcelona sports chief Txiki Begiristain has played down talk of a move for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

"He is a great player but the circumstances of his departure make things very difficult," Begiristain told Avui. "We cannot pay a great quantity for a homegrown player that decided to leave us.

"To start with he would have to show his desire to return."
