Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain admits they gaffed in signing Maxi Lopez.

The Argentine was offloaded to FC Moscow this summer after failing to make an impact since his arrival at Barca two years ago from River Plate.

"He was an example that December is a bad time to try and do things (in the market)," said Begiristain.
