Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu says they will not be rushed into agreeing new terms with Daniel Alves.
Alves has spoken out over how Barca have dragged their feet in new contract talks.
"There are no deadlines for the negotiations with Alves," he told radio station RAC 1.
"I am very optimistic about the extension and I think we will reach an agreement before the summer.
"In the press there have been many rumours about this subject but Barcelona have things very clear."
