Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta praised Arda Turan for his impact in victory over Champions League opponents Borussia Monchengladbach.

The midfielder was satisfied with the performance at Borussia Park as Barça move two points clear of Manchester City in Group C.

“The way they played wasn't what we predicted and we had to turn around a difficult situation," he said. "I think we've done so with a well-rounded performance, though.

“We were struggling to find space as they were quite deep. We were thinking they'd press more, but that wasn't the case.

“In the second half we found space inside and we were able to get a little more continuity in our play. It was a demanding game and the three points are very welcome."

He also wanted to highlight Turan's role in the win after the Turkish international scored the equalising goal off the bench.

He added: “Arda's contribution was key for the goal, but also for everything else he added. That's the beauty of this squad."
