Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has turned down an offer from Manchester City.

Iniesta is understood to have agreed a move to China, with an announcement due after next week's Copa del Rey final.

Meanwhile, ABC says City boss Pep Guardiola made an offer to the midfielder to join him in England next season.

Iniesta discussed the proposal with his family before ultimately turning it down.

He confessed to family members: "If I had the strength to play in England, I would have stayed in Barcelona."
