Barcelona aren't panicking over Manchester United's interest in Thiago Alcantara. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been following Thiago for the past 18 months and sees him as an alternative to Tottenham star Luka Modric.

Ferguson has been linked with a €25 million offer for Thiago, but El Mundo Deportivo says Barca management are determined to keep hold of the midfielder.

Thiago penned a new deal last season and isn't expected to push for a move away after finding a place in the first team, despite the arrival of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.
