Barcelona coach Tata Martino's comments about Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid have come back to haunt him. Martino was pressed yesterday about the controversy over Neymar's transfer fee - which is now claimed to have been €95 million.
"The issue should not affect the team. It's a matter for the management. We just play football," responded Martino.
When pushed about the comments he made when Real Madrid signed Bale - "He's a good player, but the numbers seem to me almost a lack of respect for the world in general " - Martino kept to the official club line: "There is no comparison, one cost 57.1 million and the other 95 million."
