Barcelona boss Guardiola tells Arsenal fans: We were simply better than you

Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola says his team were "perfect" for their controversial victory over Champions League opponents Arsenal. Guardiola praised his side for the amount of chances they created and claimed Arsenal simply couldn't keep possession of the ball.

"Arsenal are a very good team but they didn't make three passes in a row," he told Sky Sports.

"So we created many, many chances. We kept a lot of control and played the perfect game, they defended very, very well but they didn't pass more than three or four passes."

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie branded the decision to send him off "a joke" after the game and the Barcelona coach admitted he could understand the frustration.

"I can understand Arsenal, because it's difficult with 10 against 11, and I can understand the reaction about Robin van Persie- the second yellow," he added.

"I try to look at the game, how we play, how they play. In this situation we are so, so happy with our performance.

"I think we deserve to be in the quarter finals. In the two legs we have been better than them."
