Barcelona boss Guardiola pleased for Afellay after rare start

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola gave Ibrahim Afellay a first start for the season in their 2-2 draw with Real Betis.

Afellay has fully recovered from serious knee injury suffered last year.

"He played very well. He participated, he had a chance to score and he didn't lose any balls. With Alves' red card, I preferred to sub him out to avoid fatigue. Anyway, it's good news for the Dutch national team and for the future," said Guardiola.
