Liverpool have upped their price for Philippe Coutinho.
Despite their world record deal for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk on Wednesday, there remains pessimism in Barcelona that a deal for January can be done over Coutinho.
AS says the Reds have raised the stakes, insisting Coutinho can only leave next month for a fee of €160m.
Barca believe they can convince Liverpool to still sell if they propose a structured deal involving staggered payments. However, there is a split inside the boardroom over whether Coutinho warrants such a fee being paid.
Ousmane Dembele left Borussia Dortmund for Barca in August for a fee in the region of €140m - a barometer Liverpool are using to evaluate Coutinho.
