Barcelona, Arsenal alerted as Kalou unsettled at Chelsea

Barcelona are interested in Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou. The News of the World says Barcelona are not the only foreign club interested in Kalou. Fellow La Liga side Sevilla are also keeping tabs on him, while the player may also be tempted to link up with his old manager Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

Mourinho is a fan of the African Young Player of the Year, but Arsenal are also on the hunt for a striker with Robin van Persie out for the season and Nicklas Bentdner still not fit.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admits he needs to buy in the January transfer window and may be tempted to make a bid for Kalou.

The striker, who joined Chelsea in an £8m transfer from Feyenoord in 2006, actually had a two-week trial at Arsenal before joining the Dutch club.

And Wenger has monitored his career ever since.
