Argentine great Diego Maradona is set to take the head coaching job at United Arab Emirates club Al Wasl FC. The 50-year old has not managed since he was in charge of the Argentina national team at the 2010 World Cup but will again be in the coaching caper when a deal to take the reins in Dubai is complete.
Al Wasl vice-chairman, Marwane Ben Bayatt, confirmed that an agreement with the former Barcelona and Napoli star had been reached with reports suggesting Maradona will take up the role next season.
"We have reached an agreement with Maradona and we will release details later," Bayatt said.
Al Wasl currently sit fourth on the UAE League table with five games remaining and Maradona will now step into the position recently vacated by Brazilian Sergio Farias.
