Barcelona have announced Samuel Umtiti faces a lengthy time sidelined after breaking down in their 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.
Umtiti pulled up with a hamstring injury with Celta equalising seconds later due to the gap in Barça's defence.
A brief statement from the Catalan club read: "The draw against Celta brought some bad news for Barça in the form of injury.
"Tests carried out have confirmed that Samuel Umtiti has a hamstring injury in his right leg and he is expected to be out for around eight weeks.
"The French defender was injured in the 70th minute when he was chasing Iago Aspas in the build up to Celta's second goal.
"Umtiti will now miss the rest of 2017 and January of next year."
