Barcelona midfielder Xavi had no sympathy for Robin van Persie after his red card in victory over Arsenal.
Xavi says Van Persie deserved to be sent off.
He said: "Van Persie had already lost it in the first half with me because we did not kick the ball out, then we kicked it out. Things got heated and in the second half the referee was just applying the rules.
"If the referee blows the whistle and you shoot then it is a card. He already had one yellow so he had to go."
