Barcelona ace David Villa says Nemanja Vidic duel with Fernando Torres has now become personal.

Villa knows Liverpool ace Torres, 26, better than anybody after their World Cup-winning exploits in South Africa this summer.

And ahead of this afternoon's eagerly anticipated battle between Manchester United and Roy Hodgson's men, Villa told the Daily Star Sunday: "Vidic is one of the best defenders in the world.

"He is without doubt the best defender in England.. "I watch a lot of Premier League games and he keeps some of the best strikers in the world quiet - but he has never been able to do that to Nando - and Nando knows it. We were talking during the World Cup about the toughest defenders in the world - and I asked about Vidic.

"Nando knows how good Vidic is but knows he has always got the better of him in the past.

"It's become a personal thing between them now and it's a battle that Vidic has never been able to win."

He added: "Vidic will go into the game knowing he always gets done by Nando. And Nando will go into the game knowing that he always gets the better of Vidic.

"It becomes psychological. When you have never been able to do the something, the pressure mounts."
