Lionel Messi is happy to wait for new contract talks at Barcelona.
The Argentina ace wants Barca to place him at the same earning level as fellow stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) and Kaka (AC Milan), says Sport. Barca sports chief Txiki Begiristain has admitted they're prepared to meet Messi's request.
However, for now neither Messi, nor his representatives, have pressed Barca to open negotiations about an improved deal.
Meanwhile, Messi has again rubbished reports he could join Florentino Perez's Real Madrid ticket for the presidential elections.
"If it were up to me, I would stay at Barca until the end of my career and no club will convince me otherwise," said Messi. "The club has done a lot for me and my family."
