Barcelona ace Cesc continues goal scoring form for Spain

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas carried his scoring form onto the international stage last night for Spain.

Fabregas came off the bench to score twice as Spain recovered from a slow start to beat Chile 3-2 in a friendly played in Switzerland.

The former Arsenal captain, now revelling in his return to Barcelona, maintained his recent fine form by netting the Spain equaliser and then slamming in the winner after his penalty had been pushed out by Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Chile had looked set to inflict another friendly defeat on Spain when they raced ahead with goals in the opening 20 minutes from Mauricio Isla and Eduardo Vargas in St Gallen.

However, World Cup and Euro 2008 winners Spain staged a memorable second-half revival to take the win.

Half-time replacement Andres Iniesta pulled a goal back in the 54th minute before his Barcelona team-mate Fabregas drew the teams level in the 70th minute - just six minutes after he had come on in place of Alvaro Negredo.

Fabregas then spared his own blushes by being quick to the rebound after his last-minute penalty was saved.

Chile by that stage were already down to 10 men, having lost Pablo Contreras to a straight red card in the 82nd minute.
