Barry Bannan was happy to hit Crystal Palace's matchwinner in front of new manager Tony Pulis at Hull City on Saturday.
The Scot insists Palace's players didn't need any extra motivation, though, despite Pulis' timely arrival.
He told Absolute Radio: "I don't think so. I think as a footballer as soon as you step out on that pitch you've got to, you give 100% anyway but I think obviously with the added incentive with the new gaffer watching, it's a fresh start for everyone, and you've got a chance to play your way into the team next week. So go and give your all while he's watching.
"I sort of think I showed him like, taking the three points in front of him was brilliant for us."
Bannan was speaking on Absolute Radio's Rock 'N' Roll Football with Ian Wright, Saturdays from 5pm. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football
