Banks big fan of Man Utd keeper Foster

England's World Cup winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks admits he's a big fan of Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.

"The lad I would like to see come through and given a chance is Ben Foster," Banks, who made over 600 appearances for Leicester, Stoke and England in a career spanning over two decades, told PA Sport.

"Unfortunately he's out injured at the moment and hasn't been able to play for the majority of this season, but before his injury I was very impressed by him.

"He looks very confident and his positioning is good and I believe Sir Alex Ferguson wants him to one day replace Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, and that shows how highly Foster is regarded at Old Trafford.

"It's a lot of pressure for the lad but it's all good experience and will stand him in good stead for the rest of his career."
