Federico Balzaretti says he's happy at Palermo after several years of changing clubs.

The former Juventus and Fiorentina fullback said: "I wish with all my heart to stay with Palermo as long as possible because they gave me a chance when at Fiorentina I wasn't even playing.

"My hope for the future is to find a stable position here and to be part of this project. I have found a good team and a nice group of players.

"However, in football you can never be sure and anything can happen. For example, I wasn't expecting the departure of Leandro Rinaudo but things are unpredictable sometimes.

"Anyway, I have a three-year contract which I want to respect."
