Manchester City assistant coach Fausto Salsano feels Mario Balotelli would not be able to form a successful on-field partnership with Napoli's Edinson Cavani.
The 21-year old striker still continues to be linked with an Etihad Stadium departure with Napoli always in the picture and further speculation was sparked when Cavani said he and Balotelli 'would make a good partnership'.
But Salsano disagrees and is confident that Balotelli will remain with City for a while yet.
"Honestly I don't think Balotelli and Cavani can play together," Salsano said.
"Mario is doing very well. He is an important player for us and will stay at City for a long time.
"He has said he wants to do well in Manchester and so I think he'll be playing for us for some time."
