Two first half goals by Mario Balotelli proved sufficient for Manchester City to claim the three points at West Brom as both teams ended with ten men. West Bromwich Albion have made a habit of collecting points this season even when conceding first, but not this time as two goals in six first half minutes from Balotelli made sure of the win for visitor's Manchester City.
City were coasting at the break as David Silva was involved with both of Balotelli's strikes.
The first after 20 minutes was slid into goal and the second in the 26th minute was a low shot past Scott Carson.
But in the 63rd minute the Italian saw red for kicking at Youssuf Mulumbu minutes after being booked and put his team-mates under pressure but West Bromwich Albion were unable to take advantage and eventually restored parity of numbers when Mulumbu was then sent off for sliding through the back of Tevez.
For City it brought a mini-crisis of results to an end and got their season back on track.
