Sunderland interim boss Kevin Ball expects to know more about the length of his tenure after this weekend's meeting with Manchester United.
The 48-year old has taken the reins at the Stadium of Light for the past two matches following the sacking of Paolo Di Canio and is keen to take the job on a permanent basis.
Ball says he and the club will chat further about the possibility of him staying in charge after Saturday's home meeting with United.
"I spoke to the board earlier in the week and they said about taking Saturday's game and then we would speak after, and I was quite happy to do that," Ball said.
"Yes, some people might say, 'You are better off getting it sorted out', but ultimately, they have got a little window now."
