Gareth Bale has told Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas his desire to leave for Real Madrid has nothing to do with him.
The London Evening Standard says the Welshman, a £100million target for Madrid, is believed to have told his manager that he would like to link up again in the future. Bale is thought to have let Villas-Boas know this week of his desire to leave White Hart Lane for the Bernabeu.
Bale and Villas-Boas enjoyed a hugely productive working relationship during 2012/13, which might prove to be their sole season together at Spurs.
Under Villas-Boas' guidance, Bale scored 31 goals in all competitions for club and country last term and established himself as one of the finest attacking players on the planet, behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
