Gareth Bale was on the scoresheet for Tottenham on Tuesday night but could not help his side to a win with LA Galaxy holding the Premier League to a 1-1 draw at The Home Depot Center.
The North Londoners went ahead in the 17th minute when summer signing Gylfi Sigurdsson found Bale about 13 yards out from the left for the Welshman to glance a clever header home.
But the reigning MLS champions answered just over ten minutes later when David Junior Lopes slotted home Hector Jimenez's volleyed cross from close range.
Former Spurs striker Robbie Keane started up front for the Galaxy whilst Tottenham's American goalkeeper Brad Friedel did not play any part.
Spurs next take on Premier League rivals Liverpool at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium on July 28 before meeting New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on July 31 whilst the Galaxy's next summer friendly is against Spanish champions Real Madrid on August 2.
