Bale says Spurs self-belief has them eyeing title push

Gareth Bale is happy to consider winning the title with Tottenham this season.

The Wales winger says there's great self-belief inside the current squad.

"Nobody really speaks about 50 years ago or when we last won the League. We're concentrating on now," he told the Daily Mail.

"I don't think any of us look back and see what the club have or haven't achieved, we want to look forward. We've probably got the best squad we've ever had and we know if we put our minds to it, we can achieve something - if we believe in ourselves.

"It (50 years) is a big statistic, obviously. If you look at the Manchester clubs, Man City especially have spent a lot of money again this summer. I think it's going to be very hard to knock them off the top.

"City have the resources to go kind of crazy, but the more they buy, the harder it will be for their team to gel. You just never know. We know Man United, how good they are - nobody really beats Man United at home but City showed their class beating them there.

"So it's going to be very difficult to win the League, but we want to finish as high as we can. We have a good enough squad."
