Gareth Bale's new contract makes him one of the highest earners at Tottenham.
The Mail on Sunday says Tottenham have made Bale one of their highest earners on £70,000-a-week to ward off interest from Europe's biggest clubs.
Bale has become one of the most coveted players in the world since his hat-trick against Inter Milan in the Champions League at San Siro last October.
He had signed a new deal only last May, when he doubled his £25,000-a-week wage, but since then his value is thought to have soared to £40million and his progress has been rewarded with a new four-and-a-half year deal.
